About Us
For over 50 years, U.C.C. Greenawalds Nursery School (UCCGNS) has served children and families of the Lehigh Valley with high quality early childhood education. Charged with the purpose of providing a warm and nurturing environment encouraging development of the whole child, UCCGNS has supported hundreds of children as they take their first steps into formal education.
UCCGNS is an Allentown area preschool program offering a cozy home like atmosphere. Located in the heart of South Whitehall and just minutes from West Allentown, our location is easily accessible from Whitehall, Coplay, and the surrounding Lehigh Valley. We provide a warm, nurturing environment that encourages the development of the “whole child.”
U.C.C. Greenawalds Nursery School offers 3-year old, 4-year old, and Pre-Kindergarten classes, which run concurrently Monday through Thursday from 9-12. We also offer an extended hour on Tuesday and Thursdays for our Lunch Bunch program. The four-day program and our extended hours help ease the transition into the full day kindergarten schedule that local districts have recently adopted. Our classes have an average of 10 students per year. The small class size creates a family like atmosphere and ensures the individualized attention required by young learners.
Because every student is a unique learner, we provide an education through varied modalities, to capitalize on the needs of each child with a curriculum aligned with Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards. We stay connected with local kindergarten teachers to ensure students are meeting the expectations set forth when entering school. With an emphasis on play and allowing students to explore while in a social and learning setting, we offer field trips, holiday programs, Mommy/Daddy and Me time, and participation in community events.
Additionally, we are excited to be partnering with the Spanish Immersion Learning Center. This program offers students the opportunity to receive an enhanced sense of cultural awareness and motivation for future language study as part of our regular curriculum. Research has demonstrated the effects of a foreign language in young learners can have an amazing benefit for brain development and we’re excited to be able to provide this introduction to our students!
Our current Tuition rate can be found in the Handbook for the curricular year (under DOCUMENTS or further down main page). First tuition payment is due in Auguast with an additional one-time supply fee. We offer a discount for multiple childern in the same household who are simultaneously enrolled in the program. The registration fee can be found on the Registration form (under DOCUMENTS or on main page). Your child can stay for our Lunch Bunch program, an additional hour on TU and TH, for an addditional fee per session. Please sign up in advance.
